This is the first release in S&R Models "Containers of the World" series. There are 8 different paint schemes in this pack on Arnold's true N scale (1:160) 20' by 8' height corrugated containers. Names included: APL, Hanjin, Itel, Matson, Maxu, TFL, Tiphook, and Unicorn. These schemes include 2 shades of both orange and brown for real variety. They are packaged in a plastic jewel box and include printing on the roof for crane operators.

CAST stands for Canadian Atlantic Sea Transport. These containers are blue with the CAST lettering in a unique white computer font. They were acquired by Canadian Pacific in 1995. The CAST Blue Box Service operated between Montreal and Zeebrugge, Belgium. They also have extensive feeder operations throughout Europe. The CASU marks are now part of Hapag Lloyd Container Line with the sale of CP Ships to Hapag-Lloyd AG in 2005.

| No, this container is not filled with shiny
new cars. Long before Hyundai made spiffy economy cars,
there was Hyundai Merchant Marine. Their red-orange dry
boxes in 20', 40', and 45' lengths are a common sight around
the world. The shipping line is operated separately from
the auto making and heavy manufacturing Hyundai entities.
In addition to container ships, they also operate a wide
range of bulk carriers. |

more common sight in North America in recent years after their
combination with P&O. Since Nedlloyd is a Dutch Crown Corporation,
and P&O is British, they didn't really merge as such. Their
arrangement is more of a joint venture for pooling of ships
and containers. The two companies remain separate and offer
some services under their individual names. These containers

combined. The result was one of the largest carriers in the
world appearing seemingly from nowhere virtually overnight.

Stock Checks:
Inventory is a fluid commodity. It changes by the
hour (sometimes by the minute). To retain our pricing structure
we maintain stock levels designed to turnover 6 times each
year. We cannot guarantee stock status till we have an order
in hand. All product is subject to prior sale. If we confirm
that we have it, and, while we are waiting for the order
it sells, you would be upset that we did not hold it.
We used to hold items but learned a VERY EXPENSIVE lesson.
When we held items for customers’ orders, the order
never materialized 80%+ of the time. We lost out on
the orders placed while the item was on hold. Also
we wasted staff time that could have been used to pull actual
orders.
Since we are well known for finding older stock the fact
that it may not be on our shelves at this minute does not
mean we can’t get it. So, as we spell out on our terms
pages, we don’t do it anymore. You may, however, call in and we will tell you if the items
are available and if possible attempt to locate what we
don’t have while you are on the phone. |
